I have been nominated for a Liebster award by Tony Roberts at http://awaywithwordsblog.com/

I may, or not be doing this right but as I understand it I am to tag back he who nominated me, answer the questions posted, nominate others and post new questions. So here we go.

About wyldewoody

I am a scholar and a preacher. I am a father, husband and friend. I have served my country and cussed my government and will continue to do both. I enjoy writing and you never know what you might find here in my posts. I will write about everything from my biblical opinion to scientific musings potentially bad stories to editorials about public policy and international affairs. I suppose that is blogging in general, if you like it great, if you don’t go somewhere else, if you disagree with me, great I love a good discussion. Hell might just find me ranting to the shadows in the corner. Kinda like I think I am doing now. And if my punctuation irritates you, that makes me happy.

Just finished reading an extensive blog from an old friend. And I realized that I really don’t know him any more. Not that that is a bad thing, he has moved on with his life and I am honestly very happy for him. He has found his God and, at least for now, his place in this world is secure. I have always loved this man and his family and I have nothing but respect for him. I have pictures of he and I sitting around my kitchen table with a bottle of Bacardi’s rum and a bottle of Coke on a Friday night just having a good time.
He wants to be a writer, and if you read his blog, he is quite prolific. He can speak on many subjects with the eloquence of some one that knows of which he speaks. I fear that he and I would not have much to talk about with it getting into a heated argument as it seems his politics and mine are almost polar having spent the last 20 or so years right next to the seat of most of the problems. Lately I have lost all capacity to be PC. And don‘t get me started on organized religion.
He is a good man and he believes in helping others. I, on the other hand, have remained the total bastard that I have always been.
While he is still raising two beautiful daughters with his forever wife. My two boys are grown and on their own. My wife and I retired after 32 years in the fed gov to the foot hills of the Smokey Mountains, out in the country, far from people that are the Bain of my existence. Here I can ride my motorcycle to my hearts content and I have a pistol range set up outside behind the barn, just to keep up my skills for when the zombie apocalypse happens (or Obamas minions come for my guns, which ever comes first). The part about the zombies is a joke. The only zombies around are in the governing bodies.
But this man has the wisdom of having been a winner at everything that he has tried. Some of the things didn’t pan out the way that I know that he wanted them to, but he has persevered and made his way in life that many would envy. Things like working with Willie Nelson to rubbing elbows with Larry Hagman, before his death, to running his own business.
He has done things like running into a building that was devastated by a tornado to check on his employees. Which one of us would have done that? Aside from family, I don’t think I would have.
I miss this man and his family very much. God speed to you. I wish I could be more like you but the cynicism has set in way to beep to routed out by simple logic.
As far as the darkness in your mind goes….ride with it. Don’t let it overwhelm you, have a sense of humor about it. Or just do what I do…..shoot something.
See you on the dark side ….come on over we have cookies.
    Tom
